WP Version 2.7

I upgraded all my sites to WP version 2.7, so far so good. However, I’m getting this error on my sites now ..¬† Drop me a comment if you do run into this issue as well.

Do you like the new theme on hamoudy.com?

I figured since I love the game of tennis why not use green colors on my site. I will still modify the theme a bit more to fit my needs. But as of right now if you guys have any suggestions let me know! Man do I miss blogging!

Motion Shots

My current project is www.motionshots.com

On this site, there will be photos of various tennis players and their shots. I am not limiting the site to one specific sport, it will be expanded down the road. For instance, I will have photos of ping pong, soccer, or whatever sports I have taken pictures of. I figured the best thing a person can do in life is to combine their passions. My passions are sports and photography, so why not combine both into one site.

New Site Launched

I designed a new website called RateTheStuff.com. It’s basically a website about reviews of products that I bought. In addition to, it’s going to have a bigger crowd of people. In otherwords, some of my friends will be posting about products that they actually tried.

I always like to check a rate or a review on a product before I buy it, so I figured this would be a neat project to do. I hope you like it and if you got any suggestions on the site please don’t hesitate to email me. Maybe if you want to review a product for me that would work to

Accelerate

The New Design is up and I have called it “Accelerate”. The reason I chose the name “Accelerate” is because it symbolizes the part of my life that I have to go through right now. I need to move forward and accelerate in doing things in my life. This is my last semester in college so as you can see the road has just begun. I’m looking for a real job almost everyday and hope I can find one soon. As you can tell from the banner it‚Äôs a long road and I’m ready to put the seatbelt on and accelerate. I hope you like the new design.

The Risk Of Redesign

I ran into this fascinating article on Asterisk. It’s a very interesting topic and very important for web designers and web users in general. By D. Keith Robinson These are few points taken from the article.

A few ways you can help your users with a redesign:

1- Make sure you really need a redesign first. There are many, many times when it might not be worth the risk, let alone the time and effort.
2- Set concrete, realistic goals for your new design and stick to them. Don‚Äôt get too crazy.
3- Let your visitors know it‚Äôs coming beforehand.
4- User test your new design before you launch. At least have a few ‚Äúuser representatives‚Äù go through the site and offer feedback.
5- Consider a staged approach instead. Maybe you just need to enhance portions of your site, not the whole thing.
6- Consider a beta version to let people try it out first.
7- Gather feedback about what your visitors would like from a redesign before you begin.
8- Respond to feedback (both before and after relaunch) and make changes if needed.

Check this article out. Bottom line is don’t do a do over if it’s not needed; because your users get used to you’re design and might not be willing to readapt to different design. Think of it as a new upgrade for a software, a lot of people are not willing to go and do an upgrade, just because of the fact that they are already used to work with the old software. Some people are still using Win95 instead of XP why?? Same reason!
