Feelin good

The weekend is coming and the tourney is on the way. All I have to say is my game has risen up a tad. I think this toureny is all mine, no messing around this time. I know I’m playing in the A division which is a little tough for me but time has come in my opinion.

“Good things take a while to happen but once they do, they do feel good”

Golf

I tried to go golfing this weekend and the key word is “TRY”. Man to say the least, it was interesting! I almost knocked out my buddy on the green, I yelled heads up!! I didn’t expect me getting hold of the ball that good!

It’s funny how some sports are just not your sports, I mean I hit the ball straight like 10 times before I head to the hole but man is golf tough or what? I guess I’ll just stick to tennis!

Tournament Stung

Tourney

When was the last time you got stung by a BEE?

Well this is how my first match started, I was up 3-0 and I got stung by a bee, let me tell ya that shit hurts :) so I finished the first match 6-2, 7-5. My left hand was numb since I got stung right on my finger. I couldn’t go for so much backhands so I changed my strategy into playing more slice. That got me when I had to play the coach in the Semi-finals. where I lost 4-6, 4-6. I got runner up in the “A”doubles however. Next tourney is in two weeks and my plan is to get on practicing from now.

Mixed Doubles Champion

Tourney Summary,

I was a bit busy the last couple of days, so here’s the update of the tourney. I got 3rd place in singles, and won the championship with my friend Katie. We beat the coach and his gf in the finals 6-3,6-4 that felt good!

Next tourney is this weekend, I think it’s time to bring the trophy home.

Oops he did it again!

First let me start by saying that this weekend was awesome! For many reasons…

I went back to Sagnasty for the weekend to play my tennis tourney and see my friends and family. When my friends knew I was coming down, they all got together and threw a pizza-movie night which was cool. My sister cooked some really good food and I was shocked howmuch my neice and nephew misses me. They were fighting over who would get me a glass of water :)

Tourney time.. AKA the Champ is BACK!

It was an awesome tourney close and tough! My first match was against a Bay City western coach. Who I started by beating him 6-0 , 3-6, 6-4. The match lasted exactly 2 hours. I was so beat and tired..

Then I played against a Swiss exchange student who I made him run like there is no tomorrow, I beat him 6-2, 7-5. After we were done he came and he was like ” Man you made me run a lot”

Final match, As most of you know I don’t have a very good record when it comes to playing against older people. The finalist was about 45 and oh man does he play good tennis or should I say CLEAN as in NO misses. He beat me 3-6 the first set, then I took over 6-4-6-2. The guy was barely moving in the third set because of howmuch running I made him go through. It feels good to defend your title.
Unfortunately the trophies were not ready yet, so I will get mine next tourney.

I also played doubles with Tyler and ended up with a medal for third place.
It’s always good to start the first tournament strong, 9 more to go ;)
If you want to check out the tourney times and prizes check this out. See who is the star on that brochure too ;)

Tennis and Life

Andre Agassi was asked this question, what’s the parallel between tennis and life?

Problem solving, being out there on your own, your not sure if you’re gonna get through or not. Testing your own beliefs , having questions and having to get your own answers. There is no point more important than the next, the more time you spend on the last point, the less chance your giving yourself for the next one.

This is so true and beautiful, that’s why Agassi is my ideal player. Hopefully I can apply his theory this weekend at the tennis tourney at SVSU.
