Mike and I went to Bad Axe and played in their tennis tourney. It was pretty nice having to play different people and different styles, In Singles I lost in the Semi-Finals to a number one singles in Bad Axe high school. Ended up winning the Doubles A division. It was nice to go somewhere other then Saginaw for a change!

First tourney and what a start!

I played the first match against my rival Ryan and beat him 6-1, 6-4 however I pullled my halmstring. I was playing the rest of the tourney with pain, stretching did help a bit though. I ended up losing in the semi-finals to a very good player who ended up winning the whole thing. In the double’s championship Mike and I won the whole thing. It was awesome out 82 degrees. Just beautiful!

GO AGASSI!!

He was down 2 sets and came back to beat James Blake 3 sets in a row. It just shows how the game of tennis is all about adjustments and sticking to the course! Andre Agassi is in the semi-finals!” “

Labor Day Tournament 05

Labor Day Tennis Tourney kicked off this weekend, not the way I expected it to. I got pulled over on my way to the tourney because I was going 67/45. I was a little late to the tourney and the adrenalin was pumping so I didn’t notice how fast I was going. That’s just ridiculous 3 tickets in 2 months. I’m gonna have to start riding my bike everywhere. The good part is that the cop wished me good luck on my match and gave me 10 over.

This is the way to start your day! I ended up wining third place and winning runner up in doubles. However, I was hitting the ball so hard just to get that frustration out of my system and as a result I think I got a tennis elbow now. I might have to take a week off to see how it feels.

I drove home using the cruise control all the way back. I think cops like the color of my car or something!

US OPEN  View/Post Comments (1)

US OPEN starts today. This is the best time of the year for tennis! I love this tourney for a lot of reasons. One of them is I can actually watch the matches because they are in our time and are broadcasted around 7 or 8 pm. You get to see all the pros at their best and yes I’m voting for my man Agassi. He’s 35 years old which means OLD in tennis. The reason I love to watch him play is for his genius. He understands the game so much, that he in a way teaches you how to handle each point in tennis. It’s a problem solving game, you have to get you’re own answers when you’re on the court. That’s the beauty of the game of tennis!

Tourney Recap  View/Post Comments (2)

Posted on August 7th, 2005. About General, Sports, Tennis.

This tennis tournament was called ” Tennis Tips . Net Tourney”! So I had to play my best tennis since it’s in a way ma house!!

I started the tourney facing a dude that plays weird looking tennis, he was lobbing each ball. Which really pissed me off at the beginning cause no one ever plays like this, so I decided to play his game and I won the first set 7-6(6), I decided if he wants to play this game I’ll make his ass run so much so he would dread doing that, sure enough the second set I was up 4-1 and he came and retired, He was like ” Hey man I can’t go no more”! Oh ya don’t mess with me dawg ;)

Second match I won 6-1, 6-2. Guess who I am playing in the semi-finals, yup the coach! Well we had to play our semi-finals match at 6 pm, after we played the doubles matches in which I won the “mixed doubles championship”. So after about 8 hours of playing in the heat, I had to face the coach.

The first set he beats me 4-6 and then I came back to beat him 6-2 in the second. The third started and I was playing very good tennis, however when I was running for a drop shot both of my calves cramped and I almost fell. I stood up and said to myself you aint giving up buddy. I was playing so good and on my way to beat him, then when I was serving my arm/hand cramped. I couldn’t move my grip from the racquet. As if the racquet was glued to my hand! At that point I knew my muscles had enough of heat. Even though I drank through out of the day 7 Gatorades and 1.5 L of water and ate 4 bananas. I guess not enough salt in my body or something. So it sucked but I had to retire and give him the game.

This is my first time ever retiring from a match! Cardio wise I wasn’t tired, it’s just the muscles couldn’t take the stress and the heat! That sucked cuz I wanted to win that so bad. I was so focused that I couldn’t hear or see anyone but the coach and the ball! Oh well things happen…
