Oh ya I bought a ticket to go home ” Land of Cedars”  in June for a couple of weeks so I’m excited….. see the fam and the friends…   other than that what;s going on in Mo’s Land.. Just workin and working out… Still trying to recover from that shoulder injury!

Mental State  View/Post Comments (2)

Posted on February 5th, 2006. About Personal.

Let me start this post by saying we choose our own mental state. We choose to think about whatever we want when we want, so we do have the power over our brains. I’m going to start by giving a scenario on how we can control our state of thinking and alter it’s behaviour.

This weekend I was playing tennis indoors for the league. It was early in the morning at 9 am, my body felt like it was still sleeping and not ready yet. We started playing doubles and I flat out was playing my worst tennis. We lost 0-6, 0-6. The first two sets, so I went to my partner and said well let’s step it up a notch and he said well ” when I don’t warm up 5 minutes before the match I play like crap” I said well do your best. Let’s compare my mental state and his at this point. He already determined that he’s playing like shit and not ready to alter that behaviour ; in otherwords he surrendered to his negativity. On the other hand, I wanted to take action and change my behaviour or attitude towards the way I’m playing. So I from that point on, was playing not just good tennis but my best tennis. After the match was over, I realized what I was capable of doing or altering in my own power.

We choose whether we want to be this or that we do have the power to change our own mental state so why not take action and do things about it right now.

The Lack of  View/Post Comments (5)

Do we have control over major things in our lives?

Well let me start by saying everyone has control over the things they do or choose not to do. Also everyone has control over their personal material things they own or whatever. Everyone has control over their lives to some degree whether they want to be successful or not whether they want to be living the mediocre life or more.

No one has control over life or death except God. So where do we stand when it comes to controlling major things? In my point of view, we have very little control. However, what separates us from each other is the way we deal with the things that we don’t have control over.

Most of the people that have plans and goals to become somewhat what they want in life can and will eventually achieve that if they do follow their plan. Meaning people can reach the top and they can reach the bottom also based on their actions. So what’s so difficult to understand here? That we can both reach the top and the bottom of the ladder of success and still have control over the way we came to accomplishing it? Yes
So what’s your point here?

Well believe it or not, it’s not how you reach the top or the bottom that really matters is how you handle success or failure that really counts. It’s called learning how to manage, learning how to deal with things your not accustomed to dealing with, learning how to find a good thing in every bad situation, learning how to rise victorious from every tough situation. Learning how to face the music and learn from it.

So look at your life and see what you got control over and don’t freak out if you saw lots of things that you don’t control, just start thinking of a plan. Call it the “Disaster Recovery plan” I don’t know some name. “How to deal plan” whatever fits your mood. It’s good to get your mind thinking of how I would deal with situation that I don’t like but that might as well happen. Once you’ve learned how to deal, you can call yourself a successful person but until then you’re nothing but a living surviving soul.

Yo what’s up with me not blogging as much?

Well, you know the famous answer, I’ve been busy.

This gotta change soon because blogging has been a part of my life for 2 years now and I love to write. I’ve been busy playing my Xbox 360. Especially after a long day at work I just feel like kicking back and relaxing. I joined a tennis league for the winter so that should get me to be more active. I also can’t wait till the fitness center opens where I work. My plan is to start working out religiously when it opens and start getting ready for the tennis tournaments in May. Man do I miss lifting weights!

2006 Resolutions  View/Post Comments (5)

Posted on December 30th, 2005. About Personal.

When the year 2005 started I wasn’t sure if it’s going to be a good one or a bad one however I was feeling optimistic about my chances.

The year 2005 turned out to be a very good year to me. I got a good job and an awesome girl that came with it :) I’m so thankful for this year which has been nothing but a good lesson to me, which is set your goals and go along with them, do what you have to do to achieve them!

My 2006 Resolutions are:

1- Win the SVSU Tennis Circuit tournaments and get the Number one spot instead of 3rd place!
2- Learn how to save money.
3- Get in better physical shape.
4- Learn how to play with dogs.
5- Learn how to cook.

I hope you all have a good New Years!

I miss the tennis tourneys!!! I can’t wait till its summer again!

THe excitement, the pressure, the challenge , fear of losing match point, putting everything you got on the court, on each point. Stepping up for the challenge, competing , letting it fly when it does matter, yelling at myself when I miss an easy shot, taking the frustration on the next ball and hitting it even harder, controling my patience and switching my strategies for each player.

Running people down and using fitness VS clean tennis. Keeping the ball in play and going for my shots and last BRINGING THE TROPHIES HOME!

I LOVE THIS GAME

New Theory  View/Post Comments (1)

Smart people don’t always win! As long as there are Stupid people out there!

Ok so this is my new theory. No matter how many smart people are out there, and how many experienced in life and what not, as long as there are people that are dumb. There will always be this catching up game.

Meaning, we have to dumb ourselves to reach other people’s level of thinking. In other words. We will always be slowing down and trying to operate at different levels instead of our actual capable stage of thinking.

Quick scenario here,

I called up K-Mart and asked if I could get a rain check over Xbox 360, knowing that it’s kinda hard and probably impossible to do so since its so on demand. The lady goes; yea you can get a rain check on Xbox 360. I was like, are you sure? Cuz I don’t wanna drive all the way for nothing! She’s like I’m sure. I was like can you check and see how many rain checks you already got on the xbox she looked and was like ZERO. I was like so if I get a rain check I will get one as soon as they are unloaded from the truck. She said yes.

As you can tell I made sure to cover the entire scenario so I don’t waste my time going there. Yet after I got there, she couldn’t find any blank rain checks so she went to her manager to ask where they at, and he was like they are not applicable for Xbox 360!

Even though I made sure not to run into that problem I still did! Being smart didn’t help me there!

WTF is wrong with you people!
