What makes you happy?

OR

What determines you’re happiness?

I’ve been trying to answer this myself lately. Should happiness come when you are satisfied with your life? Should you ever even be satisfied or should you always want more? If you should want more, then happiness can’t be related to satisfication with life.

Should little things mean happiness? I’m happy when I leave work for the day or the weekend arrives. I’m happy when I eat my favorite foods. I’m happy when I find money in my pockets.

There comes a time when I think we all become confused and wonder… What we are really doing? Where are we going? What does the future hold? What’s my place in life?

You can never do enough or get enough to make yourself happy. If you say to yourself “I’ll be happy when…” or “I’ll be happy if…” you’ll never be happy. You’ll just find something else you want or need. You’ll only achieve happiness if you’re satisfied with your life, even if it gets flipped upside-down tomorrow.

Very nice Eric. I’ll have to remember that one.
