Project Manager

I was selected to be the Project Manager of our group project. The whole class was split into three groups. We have to work on designing a website for small or big business; describing our design web team and why they should chose us to design or rebuild their whole site. The funny thing I’m the youngest PM in the whole class and of course in my group but it’s all about respect and how you present yourself. YOU COMMAND THE RESPECT! So we came up with a name “Great Lakes Web Solutions” and I split the assignments for everyone and tried to apply as much knowledge as I could from the “Apprentice”. Since how I’m a big fan of that show, I tend to know what a good PM is and what is NOT.
So far so good, I split the work according to everyone’s strong points and skills. For instance we have our content designers, our Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I’m the PM/Layout Designer.

I like being PM just because of the fact that I know for sure that we are going to get things time at a certain time. I’ve been in groups before where I’m not, and if the PM is not organized/on top of things the whole project goes to shit. Hopefully I can live up to the hype!

Hey PM, we’re all sure you’ll be just fine. As you said it’s all about being organized. So hold on, enjoy your new responsibility and good luck :)

I have been a PM in the real world and it can be challenging, From what I have seen here you will do an excellent job. I love being a PM the only draw back in the real world is that you do not get to create as much as being a developer. It is cool that you are mixing it with something else on the project. Good luck.
