Tennis trophy 2004

Got the Third place.

It was definitely a good and tough tournament. A quick summary of it:

First match: The guy I was playing against starts serving awesome, he aced me 2 times in a row the first game, so I kind of figured I was going to have a really tough game. So he won this first game and then I took over. Basically it was the only game that he got the entire match. I dismantled him. Won 6-1 and then 6-0. It’s not that the dude was not good player I just frustrated him from the beginning of the match and like I always say tennis is about 75% mental game. BTW the match lasted an hour.

Second match I was playing against a veteran meaning he applies extreme strategies to his game and he is very precise on his shots. So we started the game 2-2 then he won 5-2. I was like you got to fight Mo, so I came back to 5-5 then lost 7-5. Second set I was up 5-4 serving for the set and I got broke, so off to 6-5 my lead still wasn’t able to close the set so we went to tie-breaker and I lost it. The guy was just playing extremely clean tennis. He must have had like 5 faults the whole game its crazy. I wore him down but his clean tennis was the difference. BTW match lasted 2 hours.

Third match I was pissed off since I lost a very close game so I smoked the guy 6-0 ,6-0. the game was over in 55 minutes. So I guess I’ll settle for the third place. It was a good competitive tournament and definitely I being fit helped me out a lot.

Ping Pong Tricks Tutorials

I have been playing Ping Pong since I was a kid. It started when my cousin made table out of a board of wood with the right measurements at his house 108”L x 72”W x 36”H. I loved the game since and kept playing on and off.

This is a tutorial for the fundamentals of ping pong or table tennis. I also threw in some nifty tricks as well as tips and “Vidoes”. So enjoy.

The “Pick up” Match

Posted by Mo | Tennis | Wednesday 3 March 2004 10:46 pm

I had a tennis pick up match tonight against some dude in midland. Well I haven’t played tennis in like 2 months; so the first set I was hanging in there till we got to 4-4 after that he broke me on my serve and then finished the set at 4-6. PS: My serve was off the first set.

Second set I started mixing up my serves, and I smoked him 6-3. It did feel good in that set; however my serve is not where I wanted it to be yet.

So off to the third set, he started 2-0 and then I came back to 5-5; BTW I tried applying Agassi’s strategy in the third set which is make your opponent run at least 30% more than you do. So I ran his ass down. I started playing drop shots and pretty much controlling the game since I figured he was tired .When we got to 5-5 he was like “I gtg cause I told my wife I’ll be back at 9:30″. lmao! I was like ok whatever good game. If you ask me I wanted to finish the game so bad. Yet it was a decent pick up match. I wouldn’t say great but respectable.

Getting Ready

Getting ready for the tennis tournament.
Today I continued my cardio workout and it feels good to mix it up a little; for example doing some stepper then treadmills then ellipse back to treadmill this kind of thing. I just had a headache while doing my workout for some reason which kind of slowed me down. The plan for tomorrow is to go to midland and practice some strokes. I also got a couple of pick up matches set for this week; to see where I stand and to get my game back. So far after turning 23 no major effects; Knees are still holding pretty well no signs of age I guess :). BTW I got a week off school because of spring break. I don’t know why they call it spring break it’s not spring yet. Personally I can’t wait till spring comes. Snow sucks. Alright that’s about it nothing else been going on that is worth mentioning. Peace
