Blogs mean Business  View/Post Comments (3)

I was reading this article and since I found it interesting I’m going to share some of the main points. Weblogs are getting popular not just for personal use but for business use as well. Like in the article they mention, what lead a business to success are the influencers. They influence the deals and eventually they determine the fate of the companies. What does this have to do with weblogs?? Well people who write weblogs tend to become influencers as well; when they command the respect of the readers since most weblog writers are opinionated and they state what they think in there blogs.
Here’s a sample quote from that article.

Blogs will soon become a staple in the information diet of every serious businessperson, not because it’s cool to read them, but because those who don’t read them will fail. In short, blogs offer an accelerated and efficient approach to acquiring and understanding the kind of information all of us need to make business decisions.

Sheed in Detroit  View/Post Comments (7)

The Pistons made the trade of the season by trading Zeljko Rebraca, guard Bob Sura and a first-round draft pick to the Hawks and getting Rasheed Wallace. This makes the front court of the pistons the best in the east. I think Sheed will do just fine under Larry Brown. I mean LB coached Iverson and still had him under control. I think the pistons are going to kick ass this season no doubt. Can’t wait to go and watch a game for them soon ;)

Runaway Jury

That is one hell of a movie. It’s basically about who controls the jury to win the case about gun control. Lot’s of twists and turns in this one. Nick Easter (John Cusack) is amazing in this movie. who gets himself on the jury of a landmark case against a gun manufacturer in an attempt to influence the other jury members to vote a certain way.. (Hackman, and Hoffman) also play a great role. Hackman as the bad guy who want to win the case for money and Hoffman as the attorney who wants to win it for the moral value.
I give it A-

Lost in translationt

I saw this movie today; here’s a quick summary of it.
Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) are two Americans in Tokyo. Bob is a movie star in town to shoot a whiskey commercial, while Charlotte is a young woman tagging along with her workaholic photographer husband (Giovanni Ribisi). Unable to sleep. They develop a friendship. The movie was alright, it was kind of slow and gets to a point where the japanese accents gets to your nerves. I give it C+

Biased VS Unbiased  View/Post Comments (3)

Posted on February 17th, 2004. About Thoughts.

What is a biased? Who is biased? How can you be biased? When do you know that this is biased information? Same thing applies to Unbiased and same questions.

I always wonder if one can get unbiased information from humans. It seems to me that no matter how hard people try to be unbiased they are always somewhat biased to what they think. Fore instance let’s say I want to know if certain software is dependable or not. My first step is to go and ask the people that use it. Now let’s say group A used it and had problems with it, they are going to obviously tell me the software is not as good. Now take group B, and let’s say they had good experience with it. The feedback from B is going to be it’s a good piece of software. So at this point I got two groups that totally contradict one another yet they use the same software? What am I to think at this point? The software is good or not?? That’s one example where people have to be biased to things they know since they experienced it. Another example is marriage. If you ask a certain happy couple how is marriage? The answer is good. How about asking someone that was divorced 3 times? Well duh he/she is going to say marriage sucks.
