Ipod 3G VS Ipod 4G
I’m going to do a quick comparison between both Ipods.
I used to own ipod 3G, it worked great. I take it with me on the road using the Itrip, which btw works magnificently. I love the interface of the Ipod 3G. Touch technology. However the bad thing about that is if your driving and trying to switch between songs or albums, the touch buttons start to get annoying and disturbing. You have to press hard and sometimes they wont respond. That’s where Ipod 4G is superior, with its wheel and built-in buttons on it. All you have to do is push the buttons located on the wheel without even looking at it.
The shuffle songs feature, they put that on the main menu on the 4G, which makes it a lot easier to access.
The 4G lasts 12 hours while the 3G 8 hours.
The sound quality of the 4G is better as apple indicates, me personally didn’t notice that much of a difference.
I found a cool program for transfereing music from ipods to pc and the other way aroeudn it’s a freeware too. It’s called ephpod. After doing a lot of research this is the best software out there. If you are a heavy user, as in if you do a lot of updating. This software creates playlists of all your albums by onc click. It sorts your songs according to type also with one button.
iTunes, you cant transfer or backup your ipod to you hard drive with Ephpod software you can. As a conclusion I’ll go with the Ipod 4G

I never even saw an iPod in real life before I got my 4G one — let alone a 3G one
I’d love to have both, even if it was just to compare them…
Oh and thanks for that ephpod link — I’ve been looking for an easy-to-use program that does this.

I have been in the fence about getting an MP3 player. I have a CD based one that I have used but not really taken full advantage of because of interface and real portability (Gym, car, running). I have looked at the Sony MD because of flexibility and have wanted an IPOD, but still think is a little too much cash to drop.

I’ve been thinking about the Sony too…don’t think you need shitloads of extra software to use it on the PC, unlike the iPod which needs all kinds of software to actually do anything with it.

Took me 2 hours to find the right software. But I kept using Itunes that’s why it kept messing up. 6 months what are you smoking dude?

Does anyone know about the Creative brand of MP3 players, like the Nomad Jukebox 3 or the Creative Zen Touch? Just wondering how they compare to iPods…

I used to have a Creative Zen but the older version. The sound quality is good but the only thing I didn’t like about it was the navigation. Was hard to navigate. This new one though looks better in the navigation part. But again I would go with an Ipod

I have a Creative Zen Jukebox Xtra, and it has been a pain. Every time i set the thing down the battery cover pops off. Several times i dropped it and the battery cover popped off and the battery fell out, and it had to rebuid the track library, that happened twice and then i taped the battery in. It has a great interface, but the buttons and in very inconvient places. The only plus i ever had was the increased battery life over the 3G iPod. Other than that it wasn’t that good
