Some might say you must believe in fate but God knows no time. Everything is always happening because He can see everything at once. It is a hard concept to conceive but just think about it. He sees everything. All paths not necessarily one path for each of us to travel on. God sees all the possibilites for each of us and where each choice we might possibly chose takes us. So God yes in this sense is all knowing but not necessarily the controller of everything. He simply knows where each possible choice takes us and we decide what choice we chose. Hence fate and free will both exist. Once we chose we are fated to a a path that will lead us to more choices and other fated paths and so forth and so on. They are not opposites as most people say they are. I think there are certain paths that we can chose and the choices we make decide what path we go on but that those paths are determined before we decide which one to take. For instance, someone asks you if you want a cigarette you say yes. Later on down the path, you find out you developed lung cancer. If you would have chosen the other path, this would not have happened. This is I guess very similar to cause and effect. However, we must take into consideration that we don't just make decisions for ourselves we also make decisions for others. Like smoking while you are pregnant and such. If this is true, then everybody's choices are predetermined. If everything is cause and effect, and everything follows the laws of physics, then, on a molecular level, the exact position and velocity and condition of the molecules, everywhere, will <strong>without doubt </strong>lead to certain things happening the next instant. At the beginning of time, everything happened a certain way, to cause other things to happen, to eventually lead to the way things are today.
